This is where we stayed in Paris this trip. Great choice. Extraordinarily modern hotel for Paris - large rooms, good lighting, plenty of data ports, marble bathroom, buffet breakfast, etc. Magnificent location on the Seine between Blvd St Michel and the Louvre. Reasonably priced only if you book ahead on their internet site. Highly recommended! |

The Military Museum at Invalides. |
|
This was our first stop in Paris. It's one of our favorite museums. It contains building after building of armour, weapons, and uniforms from medieval Europe, Napoleonic times, World War I, and World War II.. |

Tomb of Vaubaun (Louis XIV's military architect) at Invalides. His remains rest right across from those of Napoleon. |
|
Vaubaun is one of J.P.'s heros, so I guess he's also one of mine. We visited a lot of the forts he designed in the south of France. |
